




Trogir as a UNESCO town
In 1997 UNESCO protected Trogir as a unique and well preserved historic-Romanic-island town. Trogir is and extraordinary example of a continuality in urbanism. The orthogonal plan of the streets in this island inhabitant dates to the Hellenistic period.
Powerful rulers fulfilled the town with public and personal architecture and forts. It has beautiful Romanic churches which were joined by beautiful renaissance and baroque buildings from the Venetian period.

Trogir, a town which today is on the UNESCO list of the World Cultural Heritage as the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic town in Central Europe, offers a lot of sights that are worth visiting.
